RICHMOND LAND'S MEMBERSHIP
Richmond LAND’s mission and vision is guided by our membership. We rely on our membership to collectively decide the future of the organization. We are building a base committed to community-controlled housing and development. This means we are cultivating understanding of the importance of community land trusts, community-led development, and co-stewarding community-controlled assets. It also means we are building the skills and capacity for future generations to manage collectively held land and to steward both the land and the buildings on that land.
We believe that our communities possess the skills and capabilities to advance neighborhood stabilization, strengthen our communities cultural fabric, and create housing and other development projects our residents need. We are committed to efforts that authentically involve and grow the power of homegrown residents to engage and subvert conventional planning, real estate, and development practices to combat displacement and put forward equitable growth of our community. In order for communities' visions and solutions for land use and housing to become a reality, we need to become the practitioners to implement the efforts.
